The Other Side Of The Lens

I debated about waiting till I’d lost weight toned up you know what I mean. I’m glad I didn’t because I’m happy now and this is how it is! So this is us on the other side of the lens. My lovely friend Natasha form Margaurita Photography popped over from Leeds to spend some time catching up – talking photography….what else would we chat about :-)   More importantly Ray and I were having a photo shoot. Yup photos of the 2 of us together which doesn’t happen very often. So how did it feel, well to begin with I just wanted to take the camera and start taking photos myself. A little awkward not 100% sure what to do with my legs (how odd). However it didn’t take long to get in to the swing of things and I/we totally loved it we had a real giggle. The next day Natasha sent me a sneak peek a couple of photos. I couldn’t wait to see all the photos… They certainly didn’t disappoint. Ray and I now have a hard decision to which ones which to frame. Looking forward to your special day xx ps fab hen doo xx

Cumbria Pre Wedding Kate & Chris

Cumbria Pre Wedding Kate & Chris

It’s a while since I’ve been to Cumbria, so I was excited to meet with Kate and Chris in a little village called Heversham. We met at the charming St Peters church where they are to become Mr and Mrs. I timed things right as it was their coffee morning so I was made welcome and enjoyed a cup of tea with a custard cream… my treat for the day. Kate and Chris are a lovely couple specially since they had to deal with my love of cherry blossom. I was thrilled to have a pre wedding photo shoot this time of year… So here’s the photos xx

Stanley House Tracey & Pete’s Wedding

Stanley House Tracey & Pete’s Wedding
Now this wedding is going back in time a little …March to be precise. We’d had weeks of rain and then the snow came so I’d been preparing myself for a very white wedding. However Tracey and Pete’s friends must all have been doing the sun dance! For the sun certainly had his hat on for them both. Tracey was amazing on the day totally relaxed with all her family and friends around her. Pete arrived in style with his Bestman shades n all in an Aston Martin … very coooooool! Time for the photos Tracey and Pete totally rocked it for me ok I know I said the sun had his hat on but the wind was freezing you would never know to look at the photos!
Thanks Tracey and Pete you were truly a pleasure to be with xx

Wycoller Baby Bump With Siobhan & Andy

There is nothing nicer than meeting and getting to know lovely people Siobhan, Andy and their baby bump who will be here by now xx. Siobhan decided on Wycoller to be the destination for their baby bump photos a place in her heart with fond childhood memories.

I’d never been to Wycoller and was pleasantly surprised by this quirky little village, we met in the only cafe which is even more quirky than the Wycoller itself, definitely worth a visit I’ve heard the pies are a treat (note to self must go back to try one). We sat and chatted a while over a pot of tea and coffee or was it milkshake, before venturing out into the remaining snow for our photo shoot.

Siobhan & Andy you were really great to work with and a lot of fun too! Wishing you lots of happiness with your new bundle of joy xx

A couple of weeks ago I met up this lovely family. Tracey and Pete have been together for quite a while..and to Tracey surprise Pete proposed a year ago this Christmas an unsuspected present from under the tree… Pete how romantic! Tracey did have to wait till all her family were there though! It was a chilly day in Clitheroe when we met.. but they were all up for the photo-shoot jackets off braving the elements Pete and Tracey were real naturals. Looking forward to your special day… you never know it may be a white snowy wedding xx

Rebecca

Rebecca

A brand new person.. look what Clare and Paul have made a beautiful little girl called Rebecca. I’ve been so looking forward to meeting her, she arrived on Christmas eve, what a wonderful present for all her family. So Ray and I ventured over to visit with a little present, some handmade bootlets – made by my friend Ruth see her esty shop here. I have to say little Rebecca did look rather cute in them. So it would have been rude not to take my camera for a few quick snaps. x

ps We got stripey coffee too!

Home Made Chicken & Mushroom Soup

Since Christmas I just haven’t been able to get back into that healthy eating and healthy life style. I’ve done the diet thing over and over, this time I’m not on a diet or so I tell my self I’m just eating healthy food starting from today. So I’m off to a good start with my very first attempt at home made chicken and mushroom soup, believe me I’m no gourmet chef sometimes it works and sometime it doesn’t. The sage leaves are just my attempt to make my soup look pretty x.

Happy Valentines Day

I’m guilty for not blogging for a while, so I thought I’d share some LOVE. I’ve been feeling creative the need to do and make. I decided to put my creative energies in to making valentine cards Ray isn’t going to know what to do with all these cards :) . Then the dilemma what to write… when you buy a card you also choose the words that match how you feel. Where do you start? It didn’t take to long when your thoughts come from your heart and what you are grateful for the smiles, hugs, patience, support, that cup of tea when you need it. In fact it’s all those little thing that make you feel LOVED

As Kathryn arrived at Lancaster Cathedral she said ‘I just want to get married’  and with out a further of a doo they did. A beautiful service conducted by the Canon the Cathedral a glow with Christmas lights and candles a truly magical wedding… wishing you both love and happiness xx

Kathryn and Joe’s Pre Wedding

Last weekend took me to Lancaster to meet with Joe and Kathryn in there new home number 45 a gorgeous house situated in the city center… with views of the Cathedral from the back, the place they are to get married. I met with these guys earlier in the year and chatted about their engagement I have to say this is one of the most romantic proposals I have heard. Joe went to so much effort.. the setting was Williamson park Lancaster… with candles in a heart shape, champagne & a message in a bottle situated in the lake – No kathryn didn’t have to wade  in to the lake, Joe had thought that one through so with a pull on some string Kathryn reeled in the bottle with the a proposal inside… How romantic Joe!! So we thought going back to the spot in the park would be a great place for our pre wedding photos

lancaster-kathryn-and-Joelancaster-kathryn-and-Joe-2ps Kathryn had made some amazing shortbread biscuits…. very yummy!!

The Birthday Girls

Guess who turned one a few weeks ago…. Megan and Erin looking more beautiful every time I see them and their little personalities shining through. Now they are on the move and keeping their Mummy and Daddy on their toes.. er and me too!

Their favorite story is ‘ Hairy Maclary’… If I’m to tell the truth I kinda liked it too :-)

A Photo of Inspiration

I’d just put one of my favorite Autumn photos on my Facebook page and a friend Micheal Neary was inspired to write a few lines… how nice is that!

‘Light plays and shadows shade amongst the crisp Autumnal glade’

John and Lisa’s Pre Wedding

A couple of weekend ago I traveled down to Oxford to meet with John and Lisa, we met at their venue the beautiful Weston manor on the outskirts of Oxford. This beautiful manor house dates back to the 11th century and is being lovingly restored to a very high standard. There was a warm welcome from Lisa and John and Emma (Lisa’s niece). We sat and chatted with a coffee about the wedding day how the day would unfold and all the little details I must say I’m very excited to be photographing a Christmas wedding. John, Lisa a couple very much in love and I know they can’t wait to share their happy day with all their friends and family.

and a few more photos of the venue

31 Days in October

Oh what a beautiful month ok we’ve had some rain but if you just look past that and at the gorgeous display of colours mother nature has put together it’s really quite breath taking. It’s funny some of these photos I took earlier in the month of beautiful golden leaves, have now been stripped from the trees by the Autumn winds. One day they are there then next they have gone dancing in the breeze. So totally inspired by my previous challenge to do a photo a day I thought I’d do it again but stick to Autumn colours. Most of these photos have been taken on my lunch break with simply a canon 350D and a 50mm lens. xx

Alice and Mikes Wedding

After what seemed a summer of rain the sun decided to warm the October sky just in time for Alice and Mikes wedding. The day was to start at All Saints Church higher Walton, friends and family gathered and chatted with excitement there was a warm welcome to everyone from Rev David Ward.

After the service tea and homemade cakes were served in the church….. While everyone enjoyed themselves with these refreshment…. there was a surprise happening outside…. a very romantic gesture, Mike had arranged for a horse-drawn carriage to take them to their venue Hoghton Tower a BIG surprise for Alice.

Hoghton Tower a beautiful historic building with stunning romantic gardens and views just perfect. After a meander round the gardens Mike and Alice took to the balcony to watch their guest take their seats to dine in the grand hall much to their guest delight… lots of laughing and photos been taken.

Thank you Mike and Alice for asking Ray and I to photograph your special day xx

Experimenting

I’m loving Autumn the light and the colour of  the leaves, so while out and about I thought I’d experiment one correctly exposed the second photo just slightly over exposed by one stop it’s only a slight difference … I like them both :) x

Mike and Alice Pre Wedding

Mike and Alice had traveled down from Scotland for their wedding… so a couple of days before their big day we just managed to squeeze in a pre wedding chat and photo…. it was literally a couple of photos it had been a beautiful day then the heavens opened… really opened:) xx
