The date was the end of August the 31st to be precise. When I had the pleasure of photographing Naomi and Andy’s wedding day a truly lovely couple.
We were so lucky with the weather Mr Sunshine did his best and did not disappoint.
This wedding was a wedding with a twist ….. Naomi was given away by her big brother… the reason being her Dad was doing the honor of marrying his daughter and son in law to be.
I started the day with the girls, hair doos makeup and a little pampering at The Hair company in Aspull lots of giggling excitement and champagne,
Naomi’s beautiful lace wedding dress with royal blue knee length Bridesmaids dresses.
The wedding ceremony took place at Christ Church Parbold.
The bands last minute warm up before all the guest started to arrive.
Boys you all looked so smart!
Naomi just beautiful Naomi’s Dad doing a wonderful service he had us all laughing and threw in a few life lesson too
Then a quick stop en route at the Parbold view point.
Now this was a first for me a guy catching the flowers… what a sport!
Then time for a few romantic photos in the grounds of the Ashfield House Standish
Vicki and Simon they have been together forever and ever meeting as teenagers their love has stood the test of time, they are each others yin and yang.
I met Vicki and Simon… Harry, Macy and Toby too at the stables where Harry (the horse) lives near Bolton by Bowland. They say don’t work with animals and children, but I was willing to put this to the test and loved it too, may be I was just lucky. It was a lovely warm evening with a watery sun a perfect romantic light.
Meet the lovely Harry he is rather handsome … and of course Simon you are too that goes without saying!!
Macy was feeling a little camera shy today but I think she did very well… Vicki I love this photo of you x Here’s Toby he’s quite old now but wanted to be on the photos too.
So at long last the day arrived Keith and Sarah’s wedding day at the beautiful Stanley house in Lancashire. I feel I’ve been part of this wedding day from the moment Keith and Sarah were engaged. Click here to see their pre wedding engagement photos. Meeting for coffee chatting about plans, going to wedding fairs I’ve been so lucky to see this wedding develop as well as Keith and Sarah’s love for each other.
Sarah and Keith had spent the day/night before the wedding at their venue to ensure they were relaxed and pamperd for their special day. Spending the night apart is a very rare for Keith and Sarah but for this occasion they did follow tradition. When I arrived at the venue the girls were busy having their hair and make up done with champagne and giggles, the boys taking everything in their stride.
Again I’ve been totally honoured to photograph a friends wedding and be part of their special day…. so this is how the day unraveled it self … enjoy x
Sarah’s flowers were supplied by the wonderful flowershop in Clitheroe
Details on Sarah’s dress from Amelia’s Bridal Boutique which I had seen on her I phone just over a year ago
I’d been looking forward to seeing this dress for quite a while!
Sarah’s gorgeous hair and make up by Erica from Levida Beauty and Occasion Accessories
Keith seemed to have everything under control with a little help from his son Dan too
Keith and his grooms men looking oh sooooo smart
Sarah and her beautiful children Molly and Oliver… I’ve know them since they were little tots
Keith and his brother chatting to keep the nerves at bay before Sarah’s arrival
The hors d’oeuvres I can tell you are truly scrumptious
This is Keith and Sarah’s favourite room obviously they chose it for their Bridal suite
So Sarah popped on her flip flops for our photo shoot in the grounds of Stanley House
I just couldn’t resist adding a few more
The Stanley House chandelier is absolutely stunning so photos there are a must
The room looked beautiful filled with fairy light and flowers
The speeches had us all in stitches Keith’s mum got a lot of stick but she just laughed it off I think she must be used to it
Then it was time to dance
A surprise performance form some of the children. They also got dressed up in YMCA costumes the guests loved this
Thank you for including Ray and I in your special day… as guest too xxx
Sarah and Keith I’m sure you will xx
Donna and Jon’s wedding
After 2 years of planning their special day arrived, full of love and happiness. I joined Donna and her family at the Lancaster House Hotel on a bright and sunny morning. I’d traveled to Lancaster with Jon’s sister Jenn, we chatted all the way… time just seemed to fly.
I loved the fact they all had different buttonhole flowers A slightly different tradition the cake to be cut after the ceremony and served with champagne We then headed back to Bashall Barn through the Trough of Bowland a perfect place to stop for some photos.
Then it was time to head to the barn .
A little music to keep everyone entertained
Some very funny speeches I learnt a thing or to about my friends
Then it was time to dance the night away
ps it be rude not to put one photo in …. with the cows
Thank you Jon and Donna for sharing your special day Kirsten & Ray xx
Here in Lancashire I can definitely say it’s been the year of the buttercup. A golden haze across the fields as far as the eye can see. This brings back memories of childhood checking to see if you like butter by holding one of those golden cups under your chin. Such a happy little flower. x
I love flowers ……all flowers whether they are wild flowers, garden flowers, in a plant pot or vase. This year wild flowers have been in abundance. If you were to ask me my favorite I would struggle. But today’s blog is about Cow Parsley, I like to think of it as mother natures lace, the way it edges our country lanes and roads gently swaying in the breeze.
These guys are amazing since the day they met they have hardly spent a day apart. Their love for each other shows in their eyes just that extra sparkle when they look at each other they can read each other completely. As Sarah and Keith only live 5 mins from me I took the opportunity to do and evening photo shoot in hope of a sunset or at least some gorgeous light.
We survived and we got some beautiful light but I hasten to add we took a different route home.. no cows!! Thank you Sarah and Keith for being amazing xx
Just because he is growing up. An afternoon with Chris Simone and little Kai.
They are not little for long! So cherish those small hands and button noses mischievous smiles and the wonderful world of make believe. It’s all the little things they do that makes the day special. Today was an adventure day, the playground and bike, collecting treasures in a match box and hopefully catching a fish. Kai is seeing the world through his magical 3yr old eyes (soon to be 4).
Crocodile boots are the best
Daddy tells stories of Dragons and Monsters with great actions…. You can see where Kai gets his scary Monster faces from.
The world is one big adventure
The Big stones make the best splashes
No fish today but there is always next time
Ray he is my ROCK the one that keeps me steady when I wobble, the one who believes in when I don’t, the one who calms me with a simple hug. Doors are opened for me, hands are held, he waves me off every morning come rain or shine, he smiles at me with love. These are only a few of the everyday things that make me feel special
It’s His day today Happy Birthday my love looking forward to sharing many more. With love from my heart to yours
Thank you for being part of my life and making every day that bit richer with your love xxx
I have a wish list nothing major just things I would like to do, every year there is a wish to see the sea. So this was the day on the spur of the moment Ray and I left his house in Bury and headed to the coast. I couldn’t remember the last time I had been to Morecambe Bay so I had no idea what to expect… apart from the sea of course.
After a slightly stressful journey… we should have brought the sat-nav, like all places you haven’t been to for a while the signs seem to leave you a little high and dry, refreshments were very much needed. Ray spotted a little vintage shop (well he would) Dotty’s Vintage that also served tea and cakes.
Vintage tea pots and the finest of mishmash china cups and sauces made a delightful cup of tea, served with home made poppy seed and lemon scones, cream, jam or lemon curd mmmm delightful!
So feeling refreshed we set out strolling along the prom towards the most beautiful retro hotel I have ever seen the Midland Hotel it’s been restored to its former glory .. note to self I’d like to stay there one day.. see its history here.
There are some superb sculptures including Eric Morecambe who was very busy posing for photos.
Think Ray spotted me x
Time for the tide to come in
I drew a little love in the sand … well it had to be done
The end of a perfect day
Parbold Pre Wedding Photos Naomi & Andy
A lovely Sunday afternoon to meet up with Naomi and Andy – oh and Naomi’s mum too. Parbold a place I’ve never been to but will definitely go back again. So we sat outside The Miller & Carter – The Wiggin Tree pub to chat about their wedding plans… I’m enjoying this being able to sit out side :-).
We started our photo shoot at the view point across the road where we are hopefully stopping on the day. Then we ventured on to the venue Ashfield House Hotel for a few photos in the grounds. xx
I debated about waiting till I’d lost weight toned up you know what I mean. I’m glad I didn’t because I’m happy now and this is how it is! So this is us on the other side of the lens. My lovely friend Natasha form Margaurita Photography popped over from Leeds to spend some time catching up – talking photography….what else would we chat about More importantly Ray and I were having a photo shoot. Yup photos of the 2 of us together which doesn’t happen very often. So how did it feel, well to begin with I just wanted to take the camera and start taking photos myself. A little awkward not 100% sure what to do with my legs (how odd). However it didn’t take long to get in to the swing of things and I/we totally loved it we had a real giggle. The next day Natasha sent me a sneak peek a couple of photos. I couldn’t wait to see all the photos… They certainly didn’t disappoint. Ray and I now have a hard decision to which ones which to frame. Here’s a few of my faves xx
Trough Of Bowland Donna & Jon Pre Wedding Photos
A glorious day to meet my friends at Bashall Barn and sit outside, drink coffee and take notes about their special day.
Jon and Donna are getting married at Ashton Memorial, then taking the scenic route back to their venue where we are hoping to stop en route for a few photos. So we had a little adventure looking for the hot spot to stop… there are quite a few to choose from but I think we have our favourite place…. Looking forward to your special day xx ps fab hen doo xx
Cumbria Pre Wedding Kate & Chris
It’s a while since I’ve been to Cumbria, so I was excited to meet with Kate and Chris in a little village called Heversham. We met at the charming St Peters church where they are to become Mr and Mrs. I timed things right as it was their coffee morning so I was made welcome and enjoyed a cup of tea with a custard cream… my treat for the day. Kate and Chris are a lovely couple specially since they had to deal with my love of cherry blossom. I was thrilled to have a pre wedding photo shoot this time of year… So here’s the photos xx
Stanley House Tracey & Pete’s Wedding
Now this wedding is going back in time a little …March to be precise. We’d had weeks of rain and then the snow came so I’d been preparing myself for a very white wedding. However Tracey and Pete’s friends must all have been doing the sun dance! For the sun certainly had his hat on for them both. Tracey was amazing on the day totally relaxed with all her family and friends around her. Pete arrived in style with his Bestman shades n all in an Aston Martin … very coooooool! Time for the photos Tracey and Pete totally rocked it for me ok I know I said the sun had his hat on but the wind was freezing you would never know to look at the photos!
Thanks Tracey and Pete you were truly a pleasure to be with xx
I’ll be blogging soon about our experience… on the other side of the lens!
There is nothing nicer than meeting and getting to know lovely people Siobhan, Andy and their baby bump who will be here by now xx. Siobhan decided on Wycoller to be the destination for their baby bump photos a place in her heart with fond childhood memories.
I’d never been to Wycoller and was pleasantly surprised by this quirky little village, we met in the only cafe which is even more quirky than the Wycoller itself, definitely worth a visit I’ve heard the pies are a treat (note to self must go back to try one). We sat and chatted a while over a pot of tea and coffee or was it milkshake, before venturing out into the remaining snow for our photo shoot.
Siobhan & Andy you were really great to work with and a lot of fun too! Wishing you lots of happiness with your new bundle of joy xx
A couple of weeks ago I met up this lovely family. Tracey and Pete have been together for quite a while..and to Tracey surprise Pete proposed a year ago this Christmas an unsuspected present from under the tree… Pete how romantic! Tracey did have to wait till all her family were there though! It was a chilly day in Clitheroe when we met.. but they were all up for the photo-shoot jackets off braving the elements Pete and Tracey were real naturals. Looking forward to your special day… you never know it may be a white snowy wedding xx
